Adhesive Residue - What is adhesive residue?
Definition of ADHESIVE RESIDUE:
The adhesive that is left behind on a substrate when a self-adhesive label is removed. Adhesive residue happens when a pressure sensitive adhesive has low cohesion; when a label is removed, the adhesive’s adhesion (with the face material and substrate) is greater than its cohesion, which results in the adhesive splitting so that part of the adhesive remains on the face material and the rest remains on the substrate as adhesive residue.
