Blockout Labels - What are blockout labels?
Definition of BLOCKOUT LABEL:
Labels that cannot be seen through; opaque labels are often referred to as blockout labels because whatever is beneath the label cannot be seen and it is blocked from view. Blockout labels can be made by using an opaque face material, an opaque adhesive, an opaque coating, or any combination of the three. They are used when a label must be able to cover up a substrate, including anything that has already been printed or written onto its surface.
There are a variety of reasons to use a blockout label; mistakes can be hidden, out of date information can be updated, packaging can be reused by covering up old information and replacing it with a new delivery address or identifying information, or they can be used to cover up the pattern on a substrate to ensure that the applied label remains legible.
At Label Planet, we supply a range of blockout labels, which are matt white paper labels with an opaque coating and an opaque adhesive.
