Butt Cut - What does butt cut mean?
Definition of BUTT CUT:
This term refers to material that has been sliced into shapes that have no waste between them; the edges of two shapes butt up against each other (without a gap between them).
In labelling, butt cut labels are usually square cut corner rectangles, without any waste (gaps) between the labels. Labels are usually butt cut in order to produce the largest possible size of label within the available dimensions of a laminate and to help create a layout that will reduce the chances of labels separating from their backing sheet during the printing process.
