Clay Coated - What does clay coated mean?

Definition of CLAY COATED:

A type of coated paper; paper that has had one or both of its sides coated with refined clay. The clay fills the gaps between fibres in the paper, which improves the smoothness of the finished paper. Clay also improves the opacity, brightness, and ink receptivity of a paper, which produces high quality print results.
