Fibre - What does fibre mean?

Definition of FIBRE:

Fibres are individual threads that are joined together to create a material or substance; they can be naturally occurring (in plants, animals, and minerals) or synthetic.

In paper making, cellulose fibres from plants and trees are reduced into a pulp, which is then processed into paper.
