Hang Tag - What is a hang tag?
Definition of HANG TAG:
Labels that are attached to objects using a thread or tie rather than an adhesive. These labels are usually made of thicker materials, such as heavy paper stock or card; they are die cut with a hole or holes so that they can be hung from an object or display, or threaded onto a hanger.
Hang tags are most commonly found in the retail industry where they are used as product labels that display product and pricing information or marketing details such as promotions and offers. They are especially popular for labelling products that are displayed without product packaging; these items would be damaged by the use of a permanent adhesive or may be made of materials that standard adhesives struggle to bond with efficiently – tying a hang tag onto these items means that product or retail information can be securely attached to the item and then removed easily (and without damaging the item) once it has been sold.
