Mirrored - What does mirrored mean?
Definition of MIRRORED:
This entry has two definitions:
Definition 1:
In print, mirrored can be used to refer to print that has been reversed around a central axis – so that the print reads correctly either when viewed in a mirror or when viewed through a transparent surface from the opposite side to the printed substrate. This is known as Mirror Printing; it can be used on designs that contain text, images, or objects (or any mix of the three).
Definition 2:
In labelling, mirrored can be used to refer to materials that have a highly reflective (or mirror-like) finish. Materials with a mirrored finish contain a thin layer of a reflective coating. Similar to making actual mirrors, a thin reflective layer sits behind a protective coating (in mirrors this is a layer of glass or plastic). Mirrored labels are often made using a thin layer of aluminium.
At Label Planet, we supply a range of mirrored silver labels, which are made from polyester with a reflective mirrored finish and a permanent adhesive.
