Narrow Edge Leading (N.E.L.) - What does narrow edge leading mean?
Definition of NARROW EDGE LEADING:
The orientation of an A4 sheet during the manufacturing and printing processes. Narrow edge leading is when the narrowest edge of a sheet enters a machine first. On an A4 sheet this is the edge that measures 210mm, meaning that the sheet should be portrait when it is fed into a printer. Most desktop printers accept sheets narrow edge leading. Where a printer gives the option of choosing between wide and narrow edge leading, our labels should always be entered narrow edge leading so that the direction of the labels through the printer goes with the grain, rather than against it.
