Any adhesive that has the property of being opaque opaque materials are impenetrable by light which means they will not allow light to pass through them they don't transmit light and so cannot be seen through Opaque adhesives may be made with materials that are naturally opaque or may have additives added to them in order to create an opaque adhesive An opaque adhesive is one way to create an opaque or blockout label which can be used to ensure that existing print or patterns on a substrate are completely blocked out once a label is applied Opaque adhesives are particularly useful if the face material being used on an opaque label is itself incapable of blocking out existing print or patterns At Label Planet we have a range of opaque labels which are made with a matt white paper face material and an opaque adhesive

Opaque - What does opaque mean?

Definition of OPAQUE:

A property of materials defined as being impenetrable by light. Unlike transparent and transluscent materials, an opaque material will not allow light to pass through it (it won't transmit light). Opaque materials cannot be seen through.
