This entry has two definitions Definition 1 The intended end use of a label when referring to a label's intended application this may include the specific type of material that a label will need to bond with successfully the environmental conditions in which the label will be applied and stored and how long the label must remain firmly in place Definition 2 Application is also used to refer to the process of placing a label onto its intended substrate in other words the process of labelling an item by sticking a self adhesive label onto that item

Sample - What is a sample?

Definition of SAMPLE:

In terms of materials and products, a sample is either a small quantity of a material or product that represents the whole or an individual example of a material or product that is available to buy in units (rather than individually). For example, a 10cm square of material could be sent as a sample of a full roll or an individual roll of that material could be sent as a sample of a product that is available to buy in larger units.
