Pressure sensitive labels are produced in several finished forms Sheet labels are carried on a backing sheet that is cut to a standard or pre-specified size In the UK the most common size of sheet labels is A4 although they can also be produced to A5 A6 or bespoke sizes These labels are usually sold in packs or boxes of a set quantity packs of labels are usually available in smaller quantities such as 5 10 or 25 while boxes are used to hold bigger quantities and are commonly sold in reams of 500 sheets These labels are manufactured from a continuous laminate of pressure sensitive material that is then cut into singular sheets Sheet labels are most commonly used with standard desktop laser printers and inkjet printers At Label Planet all of our labels are supplied on A4 sheets

Shrinkage - What is shrinkage?

Definition of SHRINKAGE:

This is a reduction in any dimension of a sheet of labels, and can occur in any of the layers used in a construction. Shrinkage can be caused by a number of environmental factors; a change in humidity is a common cause of shrinkage as it can affect the moisture content of a sheet of labels. It can also be a natural result of the passage of time.
