Top Lamination - What is top lamination?

Definition of TOP LAMINATION:

A type of coating; a clear film that is applied to the top surface of a face material to enhance its appearance or to create a protective coating. A top laminate can be produced with a gloss, matt, or textured finish, depending on the requirements of the application. Top lamination is usually done on press during the manufacturing process, although it can be done later as a separate converting operation.

A roll of top lamination on a printing press; this clear film will be applied onto materials as a protective and/or decorative layer during the manufacturing process.
