Wire Side - What does wire side mean?
Definition of WIRE SIDE:
Paper has two sides; the wire side is the side of the web that came into contact with the forming wire (a moving mesh wire belt) in the paper machine during the manufacturing process. This is the side through which smaller fibres and elements are lost during the manufacturing process and consequently the wire side is usually the stronger side and has a more pronounced grain.
