What Sort Of Super Stickers Can I Make With Round Labels and Circular Labels?
You can use round labels and circular labels to make:

What Sort Of Round Labels and Circular Labels Should I Choose?
Round labels and circular labels are available in all sorts of different label materials and adhesives. It depends what you want your stickers to look like, where they will be stuck, and how long they need to stay stuck for.
If you want to create a colourful design, you have two options:
- Select white labels that you can print with the background colour of your choice.
- Select coloured labels to give yourself a colourful background onto which you can add your design.
Our range of coloured materials includes pastel coloured labels, fluorescent labels, brown Kraft labels, and metallic gold and silver labels. Our decorative materials are brilliant for use as round stickers.
Alternatively, you can choose between our transparent labels or our white labels. We have options for matt or gloss finishes. A matt finish creates a dull, flat surface, while a gloss finish creates a bright, shiny surface.
How Do I Add A Design To My Round Labels and Circular Labels?
Round labels and circular labels can be trickier to design (and print) compared with rectangular or square labels. You have to align your design with the constantly curving edge of your blank labels.
Most software and printers have limited accuracy, so you’ll need to take extra care (and maybe use a bit of trial and error) to get your design just right.
At Label Planet, we supply Word label templates and PDF label templates for all of our label sizes.
Three of our round label sizes (72mm, 63.5mm, and 40mm) also have compatible codes for built-in templates available via software like Microsoft Word.
If you are creating a sheet of stickers with the same design (or groups of designs), we recommend adding your design to the top left label and then using copy and paste to complete your template. We strongly recommend performing a test print onto blank paper before printing onto your sheet labels. This allows you to check for any misalignment and correct your label template (or printer settings) to resolve the issue – without wasting any of your sticky labels.
Top Tips For Designing Round Labels and Circular Labels
Pick Your Software Carefully
Graphics software is perfect for designing your own stickers. The label template will show the exact shape and layout of your round labels / circular labels. You simply need to add your design in the right place.
Not everyone has access to or knowledge of graphics packages, however, and they may need to use more basic software. This is usually word processing software like Microsoft Word.
You can create a perfectly good label template for round labels and circular labels using word processors. The design tools will be limited because the software is designed to handle text.
Word is not sophisticated enough to replicate the shape of round labels and circular labels. Instead, a grid of squares represents each blank label. Each round label fits inside a square so the circular label touches each of the four sides of the square.
You have to estimate where the edges of your round labels are when adding your design. This makes it especially important to do a test print of your label template.
When adding images in Word, you also need to change the Wrap Text format to Tight. The default setting (In Line With Text) limits where you can position your image. Changing the Wrap Text format gives you much more control (and accuracy). Click on your image and select the Picture Tools Format tab at the top of the page to change the Wrap Text.
Keep Your Label Shape In Mind When Creating Your Design
Many people who are creating round stickers instinctively want to use round elements in their design and add borders or design elements around the edges of their sticky labels. Unfortunately, it is difficult to align these elements perfectly. They can also end up emphasising any slight misalignment on your printed sheet labels. We recommend centralising your design so it starts from the centre of each label and expands outwards.
Be Aware Of White Edging
White edging is a bit of a misnomer because it actually refers to blank or unprinted areas around the edges of your sticky labels. This can happen if your label template and printer settings haven’t been set up properly. You simply need to adjust your template or print settings to fix the issue.
It can also happen because your software and printer don’t offer the precision required to print each label perfectly. Most printers are accurate to within a millimetre or two. This can mean that you end up with areas around the edges of your round labels that are unprinted.
While you can spend hours tinkering with your template and printer trying to correct this issue, it’s far simpler to oversize your design. This way it will overlap the edges of your sticky labels – making it impossible for white edging to appear.
This is a common issue when adding a coloured background or border. Coloured backgrounds are easily fixed by resizing your design. Borders are more difficult because you have a smaller area to overlap across the edges of your round labels. We recommend avoiding a border if possible. If you absolutely have to have a border, make it as thick as possible so it is easier to overlap.
Set Up Your Printer Properly
If your printer has a media bypass tray – use it! This is a secondary tray designed for thicker materials (like self adhesive labels) and offers a straighter path through the printer. This reduces the risk of misalignment caused by your sheets rotating as they are pulled through the printer. Load your sheet labels carefully so that they are sitting in a straight stack with the guides placed levelly along each side.
You also need to go into your Printer’s Properties or Printing Preferences before you print to ensure:
- The page size is set to A4.
- No scaling options are applied. For example, a percentage less than 100% or any “Fit To…” options.
