We always talk about mail merges and address labels; here's a few other ways you can use mail merge.
We’ve mentioned Mail Merge a couple of times on this blog and it really is a useful way to print address labels BUT we thought it was about time we pointed out that Mail Merge can come in handy in a few other ways as well:
- Name Labels
Got a lot of people coming to a big event? Whether you’re planning a fun birthday bash, a celebratory get together, a fancy wedding, or a corporate event, you’re probably going to need name labels. Perhaps you want place cards and place mats, identification tags, “Hi, My Name Is…” badges, personalised gift tags for party favours, or personalised handouts. In any case, you can design your labels using mail merge and then slot in all those names at once. - Product Labels
If you have a lot of specific product information and particularly information that is unique to a particular item, you are likely to have a database of information that you need to get onto your products. Mail merge is an easy way to create one product label that holds all of that information in one place, without having to copy or type it all in. - Personalised Product Labels
These are a great addition, particularly if you are producing gifts or bespoke items. You could add a thank you message to your customers or allow your customers to request their own personal message on gift items. - Direct Marketing
These days we are inundated with marketing materials, from postcards to full size brochures, and a little bit of personalisation can go a long way. With Mail Merge, you can tailor your messages to suit the recipient and even create bespoke messages for every single person you send items out to. - Basically any labels you print that involve taking information from a database!
Whether you’ve got lists of people, places, or products, you can transfer all of that information onto a handy label to quickly add information or to add that perfect personal touch.
So remember, Mail Merge isn’t just for address labels, it’s for all labels!
